What real RTL support means.
Right-to-left is not a font choice. It is a different set of rules for how text flows, where punctuation sits, and how two writing directions coexist in one sentence. These four things separate genuine RTL output from Arabic text pasted into an LTR layout.
Mirrored reading order
Arabic reads right to left, so the whole document direction flips: text aligns right, paragraphs flow right to left, and anything that follows document direction — lists, indentation, text flow — mirrors with it. Slapping right-alignment on left-to-right text is not RTL; it is LTR text pushed to the wrong side.
Punctuation and brackets
Periods, commas, question marks, and brackets are direction-sensitive. In a broken RTL render, a full stop jumps to the far end of the line and an opening bracket displays as a closing one. Correct output keeps punctuation attached to the phrase it belongs to, and mirrored characters mirrored.
Mixed LTR terms inside RTL sentences
Real course content is bidirectional: an Arabic sentence quoting a product name, an acronym like LMS, or an English technical term. Those Latin runs must stay left-to-right islands inside the right-to-left sentence, in the right position, without scrambling the words around them.
Numerals that do not move
Numbers, dates, and URLs must come through exactly as they went in — same digits, same order. Bidirectional text is notorious for visually reordering digit runs. Lokalizeit keeps digits as they were in the source, and its number-integrity check verifies every figure survived, segment by segment.

Course players assume LTR
Most authoring tools and players were designed left-to-right first. Progress bars, next/back buttons, and menus often keep their LTR positions even when the text flips, leaving learners reading one direction and navigating the other.
Text and layout are entangled
In an exported course, direction is set in the HTML, not in your head. If the translation replaces the words but never sets the document direction, every page renders Arabic text with left-to-right logic — technically translated, practically unreadable.

- What happens to English terms inside Arabic text?
- They are preserved as left-to-right runs inside the right-to-left sentence — product names, acronyms, and technical terms keep their spelling and their reading direction, placed where the Arabic sentence needs them.
- Are numbers converted to Eastern Arabic numerals?
- No. Digits come through exactly as they appear in your source, and the fidelity score includes a number-integrity check that flags any segment where a figure changed. If your style guide calls for Eastern Arabic numerals, that stays an explicit editorial decision rather than a silent conversion.
- Can I translate Storyline or Rise 360 courses into Arabic?
